Arcanis 5E Entire Line and FiM: REFORGED PDFs Sent Out

A few moments ago, I sent out the PDFs (minus the CotM PDF) to those who pledged at the Mind and Magic, Mind (Limited Edition) and Magic, and the Arcanis 5E Entire Line PDF Combo Reward Levels. You should receive an email from DrivethruRPG with a download link. This email was sent to whichever email address you noted as your preferred one. 

If you didn't receive such an email (please check your SPAM folder and see if you filled out a survey first), please contact me at [email protected].

Speaking of Completing Your Survey

There are still several backers who haven't filled out their Kickstarter Survey. If you're one of them, please take a moment and complete it. It doesn't take very long at all. 

Codex of the Mind Update

We've received some suggestions for rules clarifications that are were worked into the manuscript. Thank you to all who sent in your notes. You've helped make this a better book!

Art continues to come in,

 and we're pretty excited to see the quality of art that will grace the pages of the book.

Kickstarter Surveys Have Been Sent!

Hello everyone, 

I just sent the Kickstarter Survey to all Backers in a Reward Level.  It asks for very basic information, such as your name, mailing address, and email address. Please complete the survey as soon as possible. It should only take a moment to complete. 

Codex of the Mind TEXT ONLY PDF in Hand

The CotM Text Only PDF is ready to send out to all of you. We use DrivethruRPG to facilitate the distribution of most of our PDFs. I'll send out the PDF as soon as I receive a significant chunk of emails from a Reward Level. 

• Please note: There are large blank spaces throughout the PDF. This is done to give us a rough idea of the book's page count when the art is inserted. Please forgive any graphical errors you may see. These will be corrected in the final PDF copy. 

• What's Not Included in the PDF:  Appendix II: The Optional Psionic Dueling Rules and the Codex of Threats (Monster section).  Neither were complete when the manuscript was sent to layout. 

I estimate the final book will weigh in at about 256 pages, much larger than the 224 originally envisioned. 

I'll post an Update when a good chunk of the backer base's emails have been received and the PDF is sent out.

November 2021 Update

Hello everyone, 

Things are moving along well, so let's get right to the update:

Manuscript in Layout

With the manuscript completed and having gone through four editing passes, I've sent the TEXT to layout.  This has three benefits: First, it allows us to go over the text one more time because things can slip by in a manuscript this big.  Secondly, it will enable us to see where the art is best situated and help with the art orders. Lastly, we can send it out to all of you to scour the material for errors and tell us where things are unclear or ambiguous. 

What's not in this Text Only PDF: The Codex of Threats appendix, as we're still creating the monsters for the book.  

If all goes according to plan, I hope to send this TEXT ONLY PDF later this month. 

What's Left To Do?

Barring any glaring errors that would require a re-write of a section or entry, here's what's left to do.

1. Finish the Codex of Threats section. 

2. Order the rest of the art needed. (Some of this has been done already). 

3. Our graphics designer will insert the art and adjust the layout as needed. 

4. A final review of the PDF, after which it's sent to all appropriate backers. 

5. Book goes to the printer. 

Backer Kit and Kickstarter Surveys

We'll be using Backerkit as our tool to fulfill the books to all of you. 

Unfortunately, we can't open Backerkit up until we're close to mailing out the books. This is because Backerkit surveys require the postage cost to be included in their surveys and can't be added or modified afterward. As we charge you what it costs us to ship and not a penny more, I have to wait until we're closer to the shipping date to do this final step. 

However, I still need your information for various things, so I'll be using Kickstarter's survey to get the information needed. 

Look for that sometime next week. 

Immortalized in the Codex of the Mind

For those of you who pledged at the Immortalized in the CotM level, you can get a jump start by sending me a description of what your character looks like, or if you opted for the image to have your likeness, send a headshot of yourself. You can send this to: [email protected].

The End and the Beginning...

Well, that was quite the finish, wasn't it?

We had a FANTASTIC surge late last night and blew through another Stretch Goal. 

I want to take a moment and thank everyone for your generosity and your faith in our team. We take this very seriously and will do our best to produce the best product we possibly can. 

What's Next?

In the next few days, Kickstarter will collect the funds and make available a backer report with your emails and other data. 

Once we have that information, it will be transferred over to Backerkit. 

From there, I'll send out DrivethruRPG links to those who purchased PDFs of the complete Arcanis 5E line, as well as to those who pledged for Forged in Magic: REFORGED. 

Lastly, I'll start sharing updates every month to every 2 months, depending on activity. You'll see a flurry of updates towards the beginning, as the art starts coming in, and less once the book is on a boat and heading to us, for obvious reasons.
